Alice King Obituary

Alice King

Jul 3, 1950 - Apr 27, 2025

Alice Flynt King, affectionately known as "Mamose" by her beloved grandchildren, was born on July 3, 1950, in Winston-Salem, NC, and peacefully departed this life on April 27, 2025, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose presence lit up every room she entered.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marie and Luther Flynt; son, Cedric E. Flynt; brothers, William Fleming and Luther Flynt; sister, Betty King; and her husband, Ralph King, Jr.

She is survived by her daughters, Alecia M. Flynt and Allison B. Shore (Anthony); her grandchildren, Jerod Hairston, Alexis Ashford, and Bryson Myles; great-grandchild, Salah Hairston; her brother, Reginald Flynt (Karen); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family who loved her dearly.

Alice dedicated her professional life as a production technician and later embraced her role as a loving homemaker. She found joy in solving crossword puzzles, shopping for just the right outfit (always with a matching hat), getting her nails done, and spending quality time with her daughters and grandchildren, who were truly her heart. She had an unforgettable personality - warm, sharp, and effortlessly charming. Everyone who knew her adored her. No matter what, when her grandchildren called, she showed up. That was who she was - reliable, stylish, loving, and always present.

A celebration of life will be held at 12 p.m., Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Union Baptist Church, 1200 Trade St. NW, Winston-Salem, N.C. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family visitation and public viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Tuesday at the Church.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks and special acknowledgements to her play daughters, Princiss Crawford and Samantha Sanders; and her best friend, Trina Peterson; for their love, support, and friendship during this brief illness and throughout the years.

Mrs Alice.... She was true friend. She always had a smile and lit up every room she walked in! She accepted me as family. I know she was put in my life for a reason, and I always felt blessed to be with her. I will miss you always Sister. I loved you and I love your accepting family.
