Cobb, Bobbi Jane Hensley

November 7, 1933 - October 25, 2022

Bobbi Hensley Cobb passed away peacefully at The Oaks in Winston-Salem, NC. on October 25, 2022 after a ten-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all whose lives she touched. Bobbi was the daughter of Robert and Cora Hensley. She was born on November 7, 1933 in Trion, GA, where she was reared. She attended local schools and meet and married her husband of 60 years, C. Bobbi worked with the athletic department at Wake Forest University for many years in various capacities and was a true Deacon fan. She never met a stranger, loved people, and embraced every challenge with enthusiasm. She lived a full life before being diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2010. She was always on the go whether it be with her job, her friends or her family. She was a talented decorator, cook and homemaker. Her home was a beautiful wonderland at Christmas as Nana always made it special for her family. Bobbi was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and five siblings. William Cobb, Jr. and wife, Elizabeth, of Winston-Salem; her grandchildren, Jay Landen of Wilmington, NC, Will Landen and wife, Julia of Wilmington, NC, Sophie Cobb of Boone, NC and Isabella Cobb of Winston-Salem; and her great-grandchildren, Kaylee Landen of Wilmington, NC, and Wade and Allie Landen of Wilmington. I reflected just today on working with Bobbi when she was at WFU. First, as her link to working in the Sales Department at the Greensboro Marriott for the ACC tournament...we were Wake's headquarter hotel. In the early 90s she sold my husband's company on an agreement to have one of the hospitality suites at Lawrence Joel. I always loved working alongside Bobbi. Prayers during this time of remembrance for her family.

Thinking of you. Bobbi was an incredible person. Bobbi took me under her wing and mentored me at WFU after being out of the work force for 14 years. We enjoyed both Bobbi and Bill's friendship. Hugs and prayers from Wade and Brenda Scott.

Bobbi & I worked together in the 80s. She sold me on Why? the brand new Greensboro Marriott Hotel should be WFU's host hotel during the annual ACC tournament. While Duke, VA and other schools wanted to be selected, WFU's history for room use and Bobbi's personality made the selection easy. I loved all of my Bobbi moments and remember her so fondly. My deepest sympathy to her family.
