Bobby Gene "Hoppy" Flinchum

FLINCHUM WALNUT COVE - Mr. Bobby Gene "Hoppy" Flinchum, 62, died Thursday, April 9, 2009 at his residence. He was born March 2, 1947 in Stokes County to Peter Garl and Nelia Tilley Flinchum. He was a mechanic and a farmer, and worked with Tultex for thirty two years. He enjoyed hunting and being out-of-doors. He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife of forty five years, Betty Jarrell Flinchum, his mother, Nelia Flinchum, four children, Debby Flinchum (Squire C.) Irwin, Bobby Wayne (Michelle Fulp) Flinchum, Steven Greg Flinchum, and Kevin Alan Flinchum, four sisters, Mary Manuel, Judy Lambeth, Bonnie Jarrell, and Ellen Beck, two brothers, Joe Flinchum and Steve Flinchum, four grandchildren, Haley Nicole Irwin, Damon Houston Flinchum, Jordan Alan Flinchum, and Riley Layne Flinchum. The funeral service will be held at 6:00pm this evening, Saturday, April 11, 2009 in Burroughs Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Marion officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
