Brenda Sue Sparks Pardue of Hamptonville, passed away with her family by her side at Forsyth Medical Center, on Sunday, February 5, 2023. Brenda was born on July 21, 1943, in Surry County, North Carolina, to William and Viola Sparks. She married her devoted husband of 58 years, James Pardue, on May 9, 1964. Brenda was a 1961 graduate of Jonesville High School, later graduating from Elkin Business College. She then began her 60-year career at the Elkin License Plate Agency, where she took the helm as owner and operator in 1972. Brenda worked tirelessly serving the local community over the years, and prepared income taxes in her spare time, until she retired very recently in October 2022. She valued the many relationships she developed over the years with lifelong customers, local car dealers, and colleagues who became friends. Her greatest pride, however, came from her family. She was never too tired to come home from a long day at work, prepare a wonderful, homecooked meal, and spend precious time with them, especially if it involved her grandchildren or great-grandchildren. Their hobbies became her hobbies and she traveled to many a ball game, dance recital, and school event to show them her love and support. Her cooking skills were unmatched, and we will never have homemade biscuits and cornbread as good, ever again. Brenda rarely complained, always put others ahead of herself, and will forever serve as an example of a strong work ethic, patience, and perseverance to those who loved her. Brenda was preceded in death by her dad, William "Cullie"; mom, Viola; brother-in-law, Dwight Brooks; and daughter-in-law, Sabrina Pardue. She is survived by her husband, Jim Pardue; son, Darryl Pardue; daughter, Sherri Pardue (Jason Pardue); grandchildren, Brannon Pardue (Rachel Pardue), Maggie Pardue, and Wade Pardue; and great-grandchildren, Maddie Parks and Olivia Pardue. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Forsyth Medical Center Cardiac ICU for their compassionate care. We will honor Brenda's life at a visitation at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville, NC, Tuesday, February 7, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and a memorial service at Swan Creek Baptist Church, Jonesville, NC, Wednesday, February 8, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev.
