WORLEY KERNERSVILLE - Calvin C. Worley "Bill" "Worley-Bird" Aug. 24, 1928 - April 11, 2011 Calvin C. Worley "Bill" "Worley-Bird", 82, passed away Monday, April 11, 2011 with family and loved ones by his side, at his home. He was born August 24, 1928 in Pittsylvania Co., VA to the late Dock C. and Nettie Shelton Worley. Bill retired after 35 years of service and was recognized for 3 million miles of safe driving with Roadway. He was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church and a United States Navy Veteran. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby; and four sisters, Myrtle, Elnora, Ruby, and Toot. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Pauline Rowland Worley of the home; a son, Calvin C. Worley, Jr. and wife, Lennis; two daughters, Paula Fulp,and husband, Cary, Diane Stafford and husband, Jerry; six grandchildren, Michelle, Emily, Abigail, Bridget, Bryanna, and Bradley; five great-grandchildren, Cody, Garrett, Carson, Hannah and Emma; three sisters, Nancy, Jenny May, and Joyce; and a brother, Jack. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Pine Grove United Methodist Church, with Dr. Bonnie Harris and Rev. Larry Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Hospice of the Piedmont and to Becky, Kathleen, and Tammy for all of the care and support that was given during this time.
