Mr. Charles "Sparky" Howard Paul, 83, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday, December 15, 2025, at Northern Regional Hospital. He was born October 29, 1942, in Onslow County, to the late Charles Lana and Bernice Boyles Paul. Mr. Paul was the owner and operator of Paul Painting and Decorating Company for 45 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Surviving are his wife, Sandra Bullington Paul; his sons, Robert (Cynthia) Paul, and Chris (Robin) Paul; his grandchildren, William (Alex) Paul, Katherine Paul, James (Katie) Paul, John (Jen) Paul, and Jessica Paul; his great-grandchildren, Henry, Emerson, Tristan, Oliver, and Charles Paul; his sister, JoAnn DeBuck; and his extended family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Paul was preceded in death by a son, Charles Vogler Paul. A graveside memorial service will be held Monday, December 22, 2025, at 2 pm at Skyline Memory Gardens, with the Rev. Jay Meadows officiating. No formal visitation will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 714 North Main Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030, where Mr. Paul had been a longtime member; or a charity of one's choice.
