Charles Spainhour Obituary

Spainhour, Charles Reggie

September 6, 1953 - May 4, 2021

King – Charles Reggie Spainhour, 67, of King, NC, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 4, 2021.

Mr. Spainhour was born September 6, 1953, in Forsyth County, to the late Reggie Thomas and Anna Mae Gordon Spainhour. He was retired from R. J. Reynolds Packaging and was a long-time member of Jefferson Christian Church.

Charlie, first and foremost, was a man of integrity who loved and served God. He was the epitome of a family man, who loved his wife, sons, grandchildren, family and friends unconditionally. Charlie lived every day to the fullest, was always in motion and ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, whether on the ball field or in the backyard. He greatly enjoyed playing golf at Pilot Knob Park, loved playing pickleball and was a long-time softball player. Charlie was also an avid bike rider who celebrated each birthday by riding his age in miles. He faithfully served the community by volunteering many hours each week at King Outreach Ministries and gave life to many through years as a platelet and blood donor. Charlie never met a stranger and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Josie Spainhour; sons: Adam Spainhour (Shanna), and Luke Spainhour (Kristen); grandchildren: Eli, Carter, Boone, Neely Elizabeth, and Georgia Spainhour; a sister, Brenda Brim (Sammy); brothers: Robert Spainhour (Patsy), and Jerry Spainhour; along with many special nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Friday, May 7, 2021 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Jefferson Christian Church with a funeral service at 4:00 PM in the sanctuary, with Minister Steve Cook and Dr. Mark Pierce officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the church cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to King Outreach: P.O. Box 1450 King, NC 27021 or Jefferson Christian Church Cemetery Fund: 8200 Jefferson Church Rd. Rural Hall, NC 27045.
