Our beloved Chris Fotios Moutos passed this life on Thursday, April 24, 2003. He was born Nov. 12, 1936, in Klapsi, Greece, to the late Fotios Athanasios and Maria Hamberis Moutos. Chris came to this wonderful country as a teen-ager. He graduated from R.J. Reynolds High School and served in the U.S. Army. As a teen, he became involved in the food-service industry. During his life, he remained in the food-service industry and also founded Commercial Sound, Inc. as well as various other business activities. He was also involved in several charitable organizations, including SCAN and the Evrytanian Association (Velouhi), both of which were dear to him. He was president of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church several times. He is survived by his wife, Irene Moutos of Winston-Salem; three sons, Fred Chris Moutos of Oxford and Raleigh, George Chris Moutos and wife Stamey, and Timothy John Chris Moutos and wife Tammy; a sister Elizabeth Vlasis and husband, George; a brother, Thomas Moutos and wife Virginia, all of Winston-Salem; and five grandchildren, all of whom will miss him dearly. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 29 at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, with Father Demetri Kangelaris, Father Dennis Canavos, Father George Kiricoples and Father George Vlahos officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the church, with a Trisagion service at 7:30 p.m. No flowers please. Memorials may be made to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church Foundation, 435 Keating Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.

I worked for Chris for 12 years. He was very dear to my heart, I thought of him as a father. He touched my life in a way that will last forever. My deepest sympathy goes out to Irene, Fred, George, TJ and his grandchildren, also to Tom and Elizabeth.
Chris had a heart of gold and I will never forget him.
