Christine Hunt, 83, went to be with the Lord Sunday, July 3, 2005. She was born in York County, S.C., on Dec. 25, 1921, to William C. and Jane Lipford Lathan. Christine, or "Aunt Cissy," as she was called, loved to sing and loved people. She brought sunshine into our lives. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas E. Hunt. Surviving are her niece and husband, Judy and Mike Self; great-nieces Teresa Johnson and husband Dennis and their three children and Christy Hall and husband Jon and their three children; great-nephews Michael Self II and wife Stacy and their daughter, and Josh Self and wife Christina and their daughter; brother-in-law T.D. Hunt and wife Mabel; and sisters-in-law and their children. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today, July 8, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. A graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 9, at Hickory Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Mount Holly, with Dr. Tim Brogan officiating. The family requests no flowers, please. Donations may be made to R.B. Thieme Jr. Bible Ministries in Houston, Texas (where Mrs. Hunt was a member for many years).
