Christopher David Craig, 63, went home to be with his Lord Monday afternoon, June 20, 2022, at his home.
Chris was born on September 30, 1958, in Forsyth County to the late Chisman and Susie "Erleen" Richardson Craig. He was retired from RJ Reynolds with 35 years of service. Chris also retired from the Walnut Cove Volunteer Fire Dept. with the rank of captain. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Walnut Cove. Chris loved sports, especially racing and Carolina Tarheels. He was a Little League coach for many years locally. Chris enjoyed going to the beach and boating. He was a recipient of a kidney transplant and was able to go 6 years without dialysis, but then had to face the battle of lung cancer.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his son, Patrick Craig (Jamie); 2 grandchildren; Caroline and Whitman Craig; 2 brothers, Neil Craig (Maureen) and Steve Craig (Donna); niece, Laura Mabe (Justin); nephew, Joshua Craig (Shannon); girlfriend, Leslie Warren and her children, Carley Bray (Josh), Nolan Warren (Morgan).
There will be a memorial service held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Office of Philanthropy and Alumni Relations Re: Kidney Transplant Fund: P.O. Box 571021, Winston-Salem, NC 27157-1021.

Patrick we are so sorry for the loss of Chris, he was a nice and friendly person no matter where we met .Rodney was a classmate and I met him at little league while coaching at Lions park, we will always remember him and his smile and the love he expressed for you.Prayers for you and your family.
