Craig Woosley Obituary

Craig Bruce Woosley

December 24, 1958 - December 21, 2024

Making the world smile up to his final days, Craig Bruce Woosley, 65, of Winston-Salem, passed away December 21, 2024, three days short of his Christmas Eve birthday, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, surrounded by his family and Pastor Rick of Mt Olivet Church. Craig, also known as G-Daddy, Big Woo, and other choice names not appropriate for print, was born to Betty Colleen (Sink) and Bruce Webster Woosley and grew up in the Washington Park Neighborhood off Banner Ave. He graduated from Parkland High School and attended UNC Charlotte where he served as the Miner 49er mascot.

Craig lived his life being the reason someone smiled today. If you were around him his laughter was contagious, and you were sure to get a perfectly timed 'dad joke' or an off the wall comment that you couldn't help but snicker about. He was the life of the party and had a heart of gold. Craig stood up for what he believed in and was never shy to give his opinion.

Craig is survived by his three daughters, Elizabeth Bragg (Joshua), Ally Anderson (Justin), Nina Beck; grandchildren, Parker, Charlie, Sailor and Easton; sister, Patsy Perryman (George); brother, Steve Woosley (Kim) and countless adoptive daughters and sons throughout the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Colleen and Bruce Woosley; sister, Debby Woosley Fix Casey; and son in law, Alan Beck.

A visitation with family will be held Friday, December 27th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Highland Presbyterian Church in Winston-Salem. The funeral service will be Saturday, December 28th at 11 a.m. at Mt Olivet Methodist Church in Arcadia.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Mt Olivet Methodist Church.

Rest easy Craig, our lives are forever better having known and loved you.

There are few people in one´s life that make an impression that lasts a lifetime. Craig was absolutely one of those people. I will always remember him as a man who loved life and made his classmates laugh without even trying, and one who valued friendships. Thank you for the memories Craig; Rest In Peace.

I became friends with Craig at Highland Presbyterian Church. My fondest memory was at a church ´retreat where he sang Rocky Top. He did a great job. Everyone joined in clapping as he sang. You are free now old Rocky Top. Sing your heart out in Heaven.

Craig was a classmate of mine at Parkland High. He was full of life and was always the football team´s biggest cheerleader! He always had a good time no matter what he was doing and made sure others did also. My condolences to his family, for Craig will surely be missed by all.

My condolences to Craig´s family. I went to Parkland High School with Craig and will always remember his Rick Flair yell walking down the hallways. Luckily, I was able to see Craig again about 3 years ago while I was visiting my mother in Winston-Salem while she was ill. God bless Craig and his family.

Sincere condolences to Patsy and family.
I recently had the pleasure of meeting (again) Craig at Davie Hospital where he was volunteering. He was so full of life and personality. My prayers are with you all.
