Dan Junior Benjamin, "Danny Boy," of 901 W. 12th St., Winston-Salem, departed his life Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005. Dan was born March 28, 1928, to Anthony Benjamin and Ethellen Wilson Benjamin in Williamsburg County, S.C. He was a retired employee of Thomasville Furniture Co. with 32 years of service. He was a faithful member of Union Bethel AME Church on North Trade Street and the Archipelago Gospel group, the Harmonizers. His mother; father; and son Dennis Odell Wardlow predeceased him. He leaves to cherish his memories two daughters, Bessie Mae (Nathaniel) Palmer of Georgetown, S.C., and Debra J. Wardlow of Winston-Salem; three sons, Cornell and Tommy Wardlow of Winston-Salem and Jerry Lee Moses of Florida; a devoted friend for many years, Gwendolyn Vance; numerous fishing buddies; his church family; and many relatives of Williamsburg, S.C., Baltimore, and Connecticut. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at Union Bethel AME Church, with the Rev. Willis Saunders officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at the church. (Russell)
