Daniel Lamont Wolfe
Feb 7, 1950 - Aug 17, 2025
Daniel Lamont Wolfe was born in Forsyth County, NC on February 7, 1950, to John Wade Wolfe Sr. and Lela Dendy Wolfe. He passed away at home on the evening of August 17, 2025, following a brief illness. A God-fearing and hard-working man, with a kind soul. He graduated from Paisley High School. Afterwards, he proudly served in the US Army, fought in the Vietnam War, held a sergeant rank, and received an honorable discharge.
Daniel loved his beautiful wife, Zelma Jackson-Wolfe. They married in 1977 and shared a glorious 47 years and eight months together.
He was a huge sports guy! His favorite teams were the Carolina Panthers and the Atlanta Braves.
Sergeant Wolfe graduated from Forsyth Technical Community College, where he studied carpentry, Rutledge Business College, where he studied business administration, and attended Winston-Salem Bible College and Vintage Bible College.
Daniel retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company following 35 years of employment, and retired from the Army Reserves with 20 years of service. He owned and operated Wolfe and Jackson Group Home and Home Care for nearly 40 years. He also served as a volunteer with United Way.
Deacon Daniel Wolfe accepted the Lord into his life and got baptized. He loved the Lord: being in His presence and working for the Lord. He enjoyed teaching Sunday school and served as its superintendent at one point in time at New Unity. He loved preaching, teaching and gospel singing. He even led two of his brothers to Christ. He would say, "I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof and be glad. O magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt his name together". Pastor J. L. Roundtree had him ordained as a deacon in 1979, noticing his devotion to God. His upright character led to his nomination for trustee within G.E.M.B.A. We truly thank Emeritus Dwight Hash, Emeritus Mack Mc Connel, Emeritus Dr. Clarence Johnson, Dr. Bobby Green, Moderator Dr. Darryl McConnell, Vice - Moderator Pastor Calvin Eggleston, and the whole body of G.E.M.B.A for their encouraging words on his journey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Phillip Wolfe, John Wade Jr., Alfred Wolfe, Gloria Brown Hemphill, Joseph Wolfe and Richard Wolfe; cousin, Bonnie Dendy; and a grandson, Terion
Frazier.
He is survived by his wife, Zelma Jackson – Wolfe; two daughters, Tracey Renee Wolfe of Kernersville, NC and Kenya Frazier of Winston Salem, NC; granddaughters, Tatyana Drake of Greensboro, NC., Tahpenes Drake of Kernersville, NC; one great-grandson, Taven Dajour Lytch of Kernersville, NC; sister-in-law, Doris Bell Wolfe; nephews, Lorenzo (Tarshia) Wolfe, Ernest (wife) Wolfe, John Brown Jr., Clarence (wife) Wolfe, Joseph Clemmons, all of Winston Salem, NC, Donald and Ronald Wolfe Greenville, SC; nieces, Tracy Wolfe - Strickland, Mary Wolfe (Todd) Walker, Alisa Wolfe (Pastor Andre) Kinkley, Jennifer Wolfe, Lois Wolfe (husband) ,Cynthia (Joe) Carmichael, Sherri (Anthony) Aiken Sr., Carla (William) Shelf Sr. all of Winston Salem, NC; cousins, Leroy (Louise) Dendy Lancaster, SC, George Dendy Washington, DC.; brothers-in-law, Aubrey S.
