Darlene Stanner Obituary

STANNER WINSTON-SALEM - Darlene B. Stanner joined her Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 22, 2011. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 65 years, Jim; her sons, Mike and wife Sharon, John and wife Joanne; daughter, Sheri and husband Mo; dear friends, Rodger and Inez; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She will be remembered by those whose lives she has touched for her kind heart, gentle ways and sweet smile. We will miss her and hold her in our hearts forever. "She is such a lucky lady- she can wear fancy dresses everyday in Heaven and God won't tell her it is too cold and she has to wear tights" (4 year old great-granddaughter). A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, January 24, 2011 at Lutheran Church of the Epiphany. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Interment will be in Omaha, NE. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be made to Lutheran Church of the Epiphany, 5020 Silas Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem, NC 27106 or Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
