Mr. David Arnold Shelton Sr., 78, of Winston-Salem passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021. Mr. Shelton was born in Buncombe County to the late Charles Love Shelton and Lottie Lucille Chandley Shelton on December 10, 1942. He was married to the love of his life for over 61 years, Sylvia Barber Shelton. David was the owner and operator of Shelton Roofing and Gutters, serving his community for over 50 years. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and hunting. He loved his family and living life. Along with his parents, he is preceded by his daughter, Nancy Shelton Gwyn; 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Barber Shelton; son, David A Shelton Jr.; grandchildren, Cory Gwyn (Jessica), Brandon Gwyn (Breana) and Abigail Shelton; great grandchildren, Joshua, Caleb, Irelynn, Caelin, Nathaniel and Judah. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Parklawn Memorial Park with Pastor David A. Shelton Jr. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Jude Children's Fund, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
