KERNERSVILLE - David S. Shewbridge, 65, of 136 Oak Forest Drive died Friday, May 6, 2005. A native of Washington County, Md., he was the son of the late George and Emma Deener Shewbridge. He was retired from Crown Central Petroleum Co. and Krispy Kreme Inc. He was a Vietnam Air Force veteran. Enjoying time and sports with his grandchildren and great grandson, he truly was a loving husband, father, grandparent, brother and friend to all. He was predeceased by his daughter, Tammy Lynn Shewbridge, and two brothers. Survivors include his wife, Lucy K. Shewbridge, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Anna Marie Kirstine and Chuck, of Kernersville; grandchildren David Kirstine, Cindy Walser, and Cory McGee; great grandson Christopher Walser; three sisters and two brothers. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2005, at Kernersville Wesleyan Church, with the Rev. Phil Hulen officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Gur Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. today, May 8, at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
