Deborah Forrest Obituary

EAST BEND - Miss Deborah Gail "Debbie" Forrest, our beloved daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born in Surry County to Fred and Violet Davis Forrest on July 12, 1954. She was a member of Richmond Hill Baptist Church. Debbie worked at Forsyth Medical Center for 11 years. She was preceded in death by her mother, Violet Davis Forrest, on Jan. 4, 2004. She is survived by her father, Fred Forrest of the home; three brothers, Gary Forrest of the home, Ronnie (Patsy) Forrest of Mount Airy, and Monty (Dee Dee) Forrest of Yadkinville; three nephews, Mason and Lee Forrest, both of Connecticut, and Seth Forrest of Yadkinville; two nieces, Casey Forrest of Yadkinville and Ashley Forrest of Mount Airy; two great-nephews, Hunter and Jakob Forrest of Connecticut; cousins, Barry (Alicia) Forrest and Lynn Forrest, both of East Bend; and two very special friends, Linda Gonzalez and Kathy Hartgrove. The funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, at the Huff Funeral Home Chapel in East Bend by the Rev. Will Hamric and the Rev. Jim Murphy. Burial will follow in the Richmond Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening, March 29, at Huff Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.

Even though I was distant related. I knew all of Fred and Violets young-uns. I really like remembering them as we grew up together. I am sorry for all concerned.

I never had the privilege to know Debbie but was a friend of her cousin "Lynn". That is how I knew of her sickness and her brave struggle. Godspeed
