I was saddened to learn of Deborah's passing. Having worked with her for multiple years at United Way, she was always a source of laughter to go along with her truly caring nature for the work we were doing for the community. It was always a joy to see her out in the community since we both left United Way. She is missed. Also, I apologize for being unable to attend her celebration of life; however, I have had COVID since the day after Christmas and unable to be out. My condolences to her family and loved ones.

I met and became friends with Deb when both of us were cancer survivors in the Livestrong program. Then after that, we both took part in Novant Cancer Center's "Feel Good Friday" program for cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers. At this event, which took place on the first Friday of each month, various volunteers would come to share their talents (art, music, manicures, chair massages, food, etc.) with the grateful attendees. When some friends and I began to take jewelry-making materials and help the recipients make their own jewelry, we asked Deb to take part and volunteer with us, an invitation that she happily accepted. She was wonderful--stylish, creative, kind, helpful, and patient, and we were all delighted to have her with us. Deb continued with our group until COVID closed the activities down in 2020. When the programs at Novant restart, we will all miss her beautiful countenance and ready smile; Feel Good Friday won't be the same without Deb.

So sorry to learn of Deborah's passing. I worked with her as a Loaned Executive for the United Way one year. She was great fun and very helpful in learning my way around the United Way. My prayers are with you.

To The Family
It was in disbelief that I came across Deborah´s obituary and all I thought about was how we sat out on the porch at night until we hours in the morning just talking as teenagers do or sometimes walking to the store on Glenn Avenue Deb was a bit older than we were. That´s why we were able to walk to the store or sit on the porch late Deborah was a beautiful person inside and out she will truly be miss
