Mr. Donald Hayden Batchelor, 81, of Winston-Salem died Sunday, July 24, 2005, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born in Baltimore, Md., on Nov. 30, 1923, to North Point Batchelor and Elenora Hayden Batchelor. He lived most of his life in Baltimore and served in the Army Air Corps in the Pacific during World War II. Mr. Batchelor was a member of the Triad German Club and active in the Shepherd's Center. He was a member of Augsburg Lutheran Church and a former member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Eastpoint, in Baltimore. Mr. Batchelor is survived by his wife, Marlene Bauer Newton Batchelor, of the home; a daughter, Donna Batchelor Price, and husband Ronald R. of Glen Rock, Pa.; and a granddaughter, Kirstin Elizabeth Price. There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at Augsburg Lutheran Church. The Rev. Ronald Rinn will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
