December 20, 1934 - August 8, 2021
Mrs. Doris Kate Wolfe went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, August 8th, 2021, at Forsyth Medical Center.
Doris was born December 20th, 1934, in Stokes County to Curtis and Clara Robertson.
Mrs. Wolfe was a graduate of Germanton School, Class of 1954. She married her sweetheart, Bobby Wolfe, in 1955, and they were married 61 years. They raised their family in Quaker Gap, NC. Doris retired from Hanes Hosiery. During her retirement, Doris loved to travel. Doris and Bobby took frequent cross-country trips and cruises together. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren, who affectionately called her Mema. Doris was a member of Haw Pond Church of Christ and was faithful to her Lord all of her days. She was an avid reader, loved doing puzzles and also dedicated to her politics. She enjoyed listening to her son, Jon, play bluegrass music, and loved all animals big and small. Her gentle and loving ways will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Wolfe, brother, Gerald Robertson, and son-in-law, George "Buckwheat" King.
She is survived by her 3 children, Tammy King of King, Lisa Shelton (Tony) of King, and Jon Wolfe (Jerri) of King; 4 grandchildren, Ashley Manns (Chris) of Winston-Salem, Amanda Patterson (Matt) of Elkin, Dylan King (Sandy) of Madison, and Allison Shelton of King. Doris had 2 great-grandsons whom she absolutely adored, Samuel, 7, and Jayden, 5; a sister, Joann Warren; and several other special members of family and friends.
A service will be held on Friday, August 13th at 12pm at Haw Pond Church of Christ. The family will receive visitors following the service, in the church.
Memorials can be made to Friends of the Stokes Shelter or Haw Pond Church of Christ.
