Dorothy Brennan Obituary

Dorothy Graham (Hughes) Brennan, 83, of Windsor, formerly of Alexandria, Va., died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2002, at York County Nursing Home, after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of John A. Brennan, who died June 11, 1964. Mrs. Brennan was a homemaker and secretary/bookkeeper at the former Jellef Department Store in Washington, D.C.; a member of the Delray Baptist Church and Sunday School in Alexandria; and she was also a member of the Senior Group at Temple Baptist and other various church clubs. She was born on April 24, 1919, in Charlottesville, Va. She was the daughter of the late William and Julia (Winn) Hughes. She leaves a son, John Brennan and his wife, Jeannie of Los Angeles, Calif.; a daughter, Kathy M. Bair and her husband, Shane of Windsor; two grandchildren, Shane and Heather Bair; a brother, Bernard Hughes of Alexandria; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Ann Brennan. There will be no viewing. A graveside service is 10 a.m. Monday, December 30, 2002, in Arlington National Cemetery, with the Rev. James Dickerson of New Community Church officiating. Burg Funeral Home Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion, is in charge of arrangements. Contributions may be offered to the Kidney Foundation, 1216 Greensprings Drive, York 17402.
