Parnell, Elizabeth Ann (Yokeley)

Mrs. Elizabeth "Ann" Yokeley Parnell, 80 of Winston-Salem, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at her own home surrounded by her family.

Ann was born November 26, 1942, to the late Wayne and Donna Yokeley. She was a proud, lifelong member of New Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church. Throughout her life, Ann was a wonderful homemaker who spent her time working on the farm, gardening, and canning. She loved crocheting, knitting, and spending time with her children and grandchildren whenever she could. She was also involved with Girl Scouts her entire life, eventually achieving a spot on the Girl Scouts Tarheel Triad Council Wall of Fame.

In addition to her parents, Ann is preceded in death by her daughter, Donna P. Sink; and brother, Donald Yokeley.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of over 63 years, Larry Dale Parnell; sons, Ronald D. Parnell (Jill) and Eric F. Parnell (Wendy); grandchildren, Mary Hutchings (Andrew), Ashley Hunter (Blaine), Wayne Parnell, and Kayla Parnell; great-grandchildren, Beau Hunter and William Hutchings; son-in-law, Ted Sink; and extended family.

A funeral service will be held at New Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church (6408 Friendship-Ledford Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27107) on Monday, January 9, 2023, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Craig Toth officiating. The family will greet friends the night prior at JC Green & Sons Funeral Home (10301 N. NC Hwy. 109, Winston-Salem, NC 27107) on Sunday, January 8, 2023, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Burial will take place at the church cemetery, following the funeral service.
