Dr. Dedmond was my English professor and friend at Gardner-Webb back in l960-61. I just learned of his passing today (June l4) and was truly sorry this world had lost him. My sympathy to his family and friends. I know he will be missed.

I will forever be in Dr. Dedmon's debt because he somehow got me admitted to Duke University in 1952. This is a real mystery, since I was not particularly academically shiny.

You never know when you do a good deed, how far it might go.

Dr. Dedmond was one of the persons who most impressed us both as a teacher and friend when we were at Gardner-Webb College in the early fifties. He was a great influence in our lives and we thought the world of him. Our sympathy is expressed to his family. We have lost a great nam.

Dr. Dedmond was my English professor at G-W in the late 1950's. Although he never fully forgave me for refusing to join his debate team, he did continue to be my friend throughout my continuing education. I remember quite well having dinner with him and his debate team when they were on the campus at Carson-Newman when I was there. He was justifying his "rough treatment" of certain students. He said he only "picked on" people he really liked. I recall telling his debators that I surely must have been one of his all time favorites. My condolences to all of the family. We all have lost a fine man.

Francis and Eris both touched my life. Francis was my cousin. He was very helpful to me in my family research. He was very kind and friendly. He touched many lives. Francis, you will be missed. Danny McBee, son of Dorothy Dedmond McBee.

Dr. Dedmond was my professor during summer school at ASU way back in the 70s. He was an incredible professor and a genuinely kind man. I will be forever grateful for his touch on my life, as well as his wife's influence as well. I teach today because of them. God bless you during this time.
