George Burwick Obituary
November 20, 1942 - September 17, 2024
George Bradley (Brad) Burwick, Winston-Salem, 81, died on September 17, 2024 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. He was born on November 20, 1942 in New Orleans, La. to Mabel Josephine (Pat) and George Burwick.
Brad served eight years with the Air Force including one tour in Vietnam as a medical specialist aboard rescue helicopters. He held sales manager positions with several national companies and owned his own company when he retired. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and traveling in his retirement. He served as president of Kernersville Little Theatre, acted in several shows, and volunteered at the VA Medical Clinic both in Winston and Kernersville for several years.
Brad brightened many people's lives by being such a good friend and will be remembered for his kindness and generosity of spirit. He always said it doesn't cost you anything to say something nice to brighten someone's day. His smile could light up a room.
He is survived by his wife, of 46 years Janice Burwick; and half brother, Keith Burwick (Vilma) of Houston, TX; brother-in-law, Ronald (Charlotte) Hays of Bath, OH; and several cousins in TX and LA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his half sisters Celeste Cimrhanzel, Georgia Sutterfield; and half brothers Clebern Burwick, George Ervin Burwick, and Jack Burwick.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
