Hilda Lowe Obituary

LOWE WINSTON-SALEM - Mrs. Hilda Jones Lowe, 83 passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born December 17, 1926 in Forsyth County to the late George and Minnie Jones. She attended Forsyth County Public Schools and was employed by Baptist Hospital until her retirement in 1989. She was a faithful member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Walkertown, NC where she served in various capacities. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard E. Lowe, Sr.; her son, Victor G. Lowe, Sr.; brothers, Carnell Jones, John Jones, and George W. Jones; a sister, Elsie Tillman; sister-in-law, Ruth Jones; and brothers-in-law, William Tillman and Edward Gwyn. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Howard E. Lowe, Jr. and Miles D. Lowe; her daughters, Josetta L. Timberlake (Rex) and Minetta L. Werts (Thurmond); daughter-in-law, Evangelist Toni Lowe; siblings, Marion Gwyn and Shirley Dodd (Kenneth, Sr.); sisters-in-law, Fern Jones and Mae Francis Jones; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; an uncle, Clifton Fulton; an aunt, Neva Taylor; loving family friends and caregivers, Melissa Parsley and Penny Timberlake; and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 3978 Pinehall Road Walkertown, NC with the Reverend I.L. Anthony officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 12 noon on Saturday at the Church.
