Jacob Goff Obituary

Jacob Benjamin "J.B." Goff Jr., M.D., passed away Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004. He was born Oct. 8, 1937, to the late Jacob B. and Lelia Ann Camp Goff in Richmond, Va. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Eugenia and two sons, Cary and wife, Jennifer and Benjamin Goff; his sister, Jacqueline Ann Goff; and two grandchildren, Jessica Leigh and Jacob Oliver Goff. He is best remembered as a person who loved and respected life and his family, friends and patients. He received degrees from Louisiana State University and LSU Medical School. He completed an internship at Charity Hospital of New Orleans and a residency in urology at Tulane Medical School. In 1967 he presented a paper at the American Urological Association Meeting as a member of a research group at Tulane. He was a board certified urologist. He practiced at the Southern Clinic in Texarkana, Ark., until he began a private practice in Statesville. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. today, Feb. 14, at Mount Tabor United Methodist Church, 3543 Robinhood Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27106. Following the memorial service, the family will receive friends at their home in celebration of his life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Epilepsy Institute of N.C., P.O. Box 24458, Winston-Salem, NC 27114. Voglers Reynolda Road Chapel will expedite the essential human services. God has taken care of all the rest. Shalom!
