LEXINGTON - James Russell "Jim" Bauguess, 62, of Lexington died at 2:40 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2005, at Liberty Wood Nursing Center. Mr. Bauguess was born Sept. 15, 1942, in Watauga County to James Stanford Bauguess and Beulah Price Bauguess. He was a graduate of R.J. Reynolds High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served with the 182nd Airborne Division of Paratroopers. He was a self-employed carpenter. He was preceded in death by his father. Surviving are a son, Donald Eugene Bauguss, of Brevard; daughters Rebecca Lynn Bauguss of Kernersville, Tina Marie Weaver and husband Allen of Winston-Salem and Tonya Renee Torres and husband Axel of Germanton; his mother, Beulah Price Bauguss, of Lexington; sisters Linda Carolyn Pressman and husband David of Spartanburg, S.C., Sandra Jean Barton and husband Joe of Lexington and Patricia Ann Dunsmore and husband Ron of Clemmons; and three grandchildren. The memorial service will be at conducted at 4 p.m. today, April 9, at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Robert Floyd officiating. The family will receive friends today, April 9, following the service at the funeral home and other times at 215 Lorie Belle Lane, Lexington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, P.O. Box 1941, Lexington, NC 27293-1941, or to Liberty Wood Nursing Center, 1028 Blair St., Thomasville, NC 27360.
