James Charles "J.C." McGrady

McGRADY MOUTH OF WILSON - James Charles "J.C." McGrady, 87, of Mouth of Wilson, VA, the Grassy Creek community, passed away November 9, 2008 at Twin County Community Hospital, Galax, VA. He was born August 30, 1921 at Volney, VA to the late Eddie Winton McGrady and Ella Duncan McGrady. He was member of Grassy Creek Baptist Church, a 50 year member of Mouth of Wilson Masonic Lodge 223 A.F & A.M. and a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. Surviving, his wife, Helen Louise Jewell McGrady; son & spouse, Jeffrey & Teresa McGrady of Adkins, VA; three daughters & spouses, Joan & Steve Severt of Gastonia, NC; Judy & Ben Hemrick of Winston-Salem, NC and Nancy & Audie Ferris of Roanoke, VA; one brother, Don McGrady of Independence, VA; one sister, Doris Perry of Mouth of Wilson, VA; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. The body is at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, VA. Funeral Service conducted 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 11, 2008 in Grassy Creek Baptist Church, Grassy Creek, NC. Interment in Grassy Creek Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by Grayson County VFW Post 7726. The body will lie in state at the Church thirty minutes preceding the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, November 10, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. Masonic rites will be conducted at 8 p.m. by Mouth of Wilson Masonic Lodge 223 A.F. & A.M.
