Dear Libby, family and friends of Jim,
On behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans, we offer our sincere condolences at Jims passing. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are always saddened whenever a fellow "Bubblehead" departs on Eternal Patrol. He served with honor on the USS Grenadier SS-525, USS Sea Poacher SS-406, USS Sirago SS-485, USS Sea Leopard SS-483, as well as USS Blakely FF-1072.
To our "Brother-of-the-Phin" we say, "Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. Fair Winds and Following Seas." Thank you for your service to our country.
Libby and family... "may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you." 2 Thessalonians 3:16 (ESV).
Jim Sandman, FTC(SS) Ret,
National Chaplain, USSVI.

Speaking for the USSVI Tarheel Submarine Veterans, we offer our deepest condolences and prayers for the family and friends of our brother Jim Myers.
His devotion to the submarine service and the Tarheel Base was shown in his efforts to obtain, prepare, and make ready a MK 14 Torpedo that was used in parades across the state of North Carolina. Jim proudly towed the torpedo behind his truck for many years, to the delight of parade attendees.
We offer fair winds, and following seas to this brother as he enters the Kingdom of Heaven.
Sailor, rest your oar, we have the watch.
