James Reavis Obituary

KERNERSVILLE - Mr. James Milo Reavis, 58, of 912 Piney Grove Road died Saturday, May 22, 2004, at his home. He was born March 17, 1946, in Burlington, Wis., a son of the late Milo W. and Marie Weidman Reavis. He was a 1964 graduate of Burlington High School in Burlington, Wis. He was employed by Randy Sadler and owner of Accent Marble and Tile of Kernersville. Mr. Reavis was a former member of the Madison, Wis., Jaycees. He loved camping, NASCAR, gardening and his morning paper. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Landsness; and a brother-in-law, Ted Lightfield. Surviving are his daughters, Anne (Jeff) Pearman and grandson John Henry Pearman of Kernersville, and Julie (Rick) Perdue and grandson Brandon Lane Perdue and granddaughter Michala Marie Perdue of Walnut Cove; his brothers, Jerry (Marion) Reavis of Burlington, Wis., Bob (Kathy) Reavis of Burlington, Wis., and Gary (Sue) Reavis of Coconut Creek, Fla.; a special niece, Kasey Reavis and daughter Brook of Naples, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 27, at Hayworth-Miller-Cain Chapel by the Rev. Joe Myers. Burial will follow in Mount Gur Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, May 26, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the James M. Reavis Funeral Expense Fund, c/o Julie Perdue, 1110 Perdue Hollow Road, Walnut Cove, NC 27052. Mr. Reavis' family and friends will remember him as a generous and thoughtful man, a "jokester" and a fun-loving Grandpa.
