Jason Craver Obituary

CRAVER WINSTON-SALEM - Jason Thomas Craver, 24, of Winston-Salem, died unex- pectedly early on Friday morning, December 4, 2009. Jason was born on November 4, 1985 in Forsyth County to loving parents, Ronald Malcolm Craver and Shirley Mayberry Brewer. Jason was a very special son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend. The short time he lived his life on Earth made a tremendous difference in the lives he touched. From the age of 5, Jason's passion was baseball, which he started at South Little League, and advanced all the way to an elite AAU baseball team. Music also played an important part in his life and was a reflection of Jason's personality. Jason's heart and soul was his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mick and Lois Craver; maternal grandfather, Hassell Mayberry; and cousin, Russell Craver. He is survived by his mother, Shirley Brewer; father, Ronald "Ronnie" Craver; and stepfather, Jimmie Brewer, all from Winston-Salem; sister, Jennifer Ann Craver of Charlotte, NC; grandmother, Mary Ann Long of Winston-Salem; aunt Kathy Mayberry of Sanford; uncles, Micky Craver (Jane) of Yadkinville NC, Randy Craver (Sharon) of Winston-Salem; cousins, Laura Miller (Daniel) of Yadkinville, Kristi Watson (Craig) of Greensboro, and Justin Craver of Winston-Salem; and also several loving extended family members. Jason's smile and laughter always brought joy and happiness to others. Few people could have a better friend. Jason lived each day as if it was his last. To know him was to love him. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 8, 2009, by the Rev. David Smith, preceded by a viewing at 1 p.m., at Bethel United Methodist Church, 2390 Bethel Church Rd. in Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends following the Service.
