Jeffrey Saunders Obituary
March 14, 1964 - May 14, 2021
Mr. Jeffrey Todd Saunders, 57, passed away Friday, May 14, 2021. He was born March 14, 1964 in Rowan County to the late James "Jim" Saunders and Allie "Gene" Pope Saunders. Jeff lived life to the fullest, going along with the quote "It's not the years in your life that count; it's the life in your years." He loved and deeply cared for his family and close friends. Jeff proudly attended Appalachian State University, graduating with a bachelor's degree in communications and marketing. He worked for the Winston-Salem Journal for over 25 years. Jeff loved spending time at the beach and in the mountains. He was also an avid golfer and fisherman. He is survived by his wife, Julie Bledsoe Saunders; four daughters: Logan Chase Saunders, Dalton Laine Saunders, Caden Grace Saunders, Nolan Pope Saunders, and the girl's mother, Kris Saunders; stepdaughter, Ashley Vogler (and husband Brandon); stepson, Jared Pendleton; special cousins; and best friend, Mitch Phipps. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 18th at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Parker Richardson officiating. The family will be receiving friends following the service in the RFM Center, beside the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.

My sincere sympathy to the Saunders family and friends. I did not know Jeff, but his mother Gene was a special lady to me and I understand where Jeff got his living life to the fullest philosophy. Rest in peace Jeff.

I will always remember your gregarious smile and joking around. You were always fun to have around when you bought your ads back for Bonnie and I to build. Sometimes you would have a seat, sit down and talk about your girls. I felt like I knew all of them. You lived your life to the fullest. And now you've transitioned on to a better place where your heart is at rest and you'll walk on streets paved of gold.
