Jerry Gray Obituary
June 1, 1950 - June 21, 2023
Mr. Jerry Thomas Gray, 73, of Winston-Salem, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023. Jerry was born in Guilford County to the late Carl H. Gray and Margaret Bryan Gray Howell. Jerry was a devoted husband to his wife of 37 years, Barbara Rollins Gray. A graduate of Elon University, he obtained his bachelor's degree and went on to become a Real Estate Broker for almost 45 years. He was an avid fan of the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and favored the Atlanta Braves. In his free time, he enjoyed watching his favorite teams and traveling with his wife. Jerry was also a devoted member of Ardmore Baptist Church since 1988. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his nephew, Dean Gray. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brothers, Larry Gray (Bernice) and Terry Gray; sister, Barbara Stewart (Coy); sister-in-law, Claudia Daly (David); three nieces, Laura Daly Garland, Leigh-Ann Chambers and Susan Hancock; and one nephew, John Daly. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, June 26, 2023, 2 p.m. at Ardmore Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, with Dr. Gina Brock and Rev. John Hackworth, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. A private family inurnment will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023 in Forest City, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Ardmore Baptist Church, 501 Miller Street, Winston-Salem NC 27103, or the Derrick L. Davis Cancer Institute, 1010 Bethesda Court, Winston-Salem NC 27103. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com

Jerry will be missed in our real estate community. He was a kind and respected member, who always seemed to have time for anyone who needed it. It was obvious his faith played a large part in who he was. I admired this in him. He will be missed. Praying for comfort for his family.
