Jill Whisnant Lackey passed away Thursday, October 16, 2025, in Winston-Salem, N.C. She was a beloved mother, GiGi, sister, and friend. She was born August 24, 1960, to the late Howard and Margaret (Peggy) Whisnant. She graduated from West Forsyth High School and East Carolina University.

She is survived by her daughter Madison Lackey Pichardo (Kevin) and her son Dr. Justin Trevor Lackey (Katy). She is also survived by three grandchildren whom she adored, Luca and Clara Pichardo and Elliott Lackey. She is also survived by her sister Jan Thompson (Joe) and numerous nieces and nephews who were all special to her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

An accomplished and well-respected human resources professional and a certified business coach, Jill held executive positions at Allegacy Business Solutions and previously served as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Dewey's Bakery, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She was also the owner and Principal of Talent Development Solutions, where she specialized in providing leadership coaching and professional development services to clients.

Jill was a long-time member of Ardmore Baptist Church in Winston-Salem and served her church family as a former deacon. She was devoted to weekly Bible Study, monthly "Joy in the Journeys" luncheons, and spreading the gospel on numerous mission trips. She was passionate about helping others and dedicated much of her time volunteering as a member of the Inaugural Board of PIVOT Ministries, an organization that works to empower low-income women for better life and work opportunities.

She cherished times with her family and her precious dog Gracie, and loved spending time on the North Carolina coast. A service celebrating Jill's life will be held at Ardmore Baptist on Thursday, October 23rd at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 p.m in the welcome lobby.
