THOMAS WINSTON-SALEM John Keith Thomas Feb. 5, 1948 - July 27, 2012 Mr. John Keith Thomas, 64, of Winston-Salem, went to be with the Lord, Friday, July 27, 2012. He was born February 5, 1948 to the late Harry Clinton Thomas and Anna Violet Thomas. Keith was a retired carpenter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Booth Thomas; and a brother, Richard Daniel Thomas. Surviving are his stepson, Rocky Thomas and wife Ashley; four grandchildren; sisters, Annie Lou Poteat, Bertie Jo Keaton and husband John, Nancy Thomas-Essex and husband Larry, Becky Poteat and husband Earl; brothers, Harry Webster Thomas and Nancy, James Frank Thomas and wife Carol, Bruce Clinton Thomas and wife Donna; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Saturday, July 28 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 29 at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Gates officiating. The body will be placed in the chapel from 3:00 to 3:30 p.m. Burial will follow at his home. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.

I knew him and his whole family for many years through my friendship with his wonderful sister-in-law, Betty Thomas. They are a good, loving, hard-working family! I am so sorry for the loss of their beloved brother, Keith Thomas, from that blessed family circle. He will be sorely missed!
