Mr. Johnny Wilson Cummings, 41, died unexpectedly Thursday morning, March 16, 2006, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born Aug. 11, 1964, to Raymond and Mozell Baugus Cummings. He was self-employed and worked with sheet rock for over 20 years. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Cummings. In addition to his father, he is survived by two children, Maegan Ruth Slate and Matthew Cummings, both of Kentucky; a sister, Frances Cockerham, of Winston-Salem; two brothers, Billy Ray Cummings of Walkertown and Bobby Cummings of Nashville, N.C.; his girlfriend, Elizabeth Kay Weldy; and his best friend, Eddie Weldy Jr., both of Winston-Salem; and several nieces and nephews. The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, at Union Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Gene Woolard officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 this evening, March 17, at Burroughs Funeral Home, Walnut Cove, and at other times at the home of his sister, Frances. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the Johnny W. Cummings Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 471, Walnut Cove, NC 27052.
