Johnny Wiseman Obituary
April 19, 1976 - July 13, 2023
YADKINVILLE - Mr. Johnny Gray Wiseman, 47, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center. He was born April 19, 1976 in Yadkin County to Claude Gray and Peggy Reece Wiseman. Mr. Wiseman was a 1995 graduate of Forbush High School where he enjoyed singing with the Chorus under the direction of Libby Brown. He was active serving with the Yadkinville Jaycees and with the Yadkin County Historical Society. He loved history, especially the Civil War and local history. Johnny loved Reynolda Church E.P.C., his church home where he had many dear friends, and enjoyed being in the Karen Reavis' Sunday School Class. He enjoyed listening to Southern Gospel Music and shopping at Goodwill and McKay's. Johnny also carried on his Uncle Thad's tradition of selling RoseBud Salve since 2014. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents, his father, Claude Gray Wiseman in 2022, and several aunts and uncles. Surviving are his mother, Peggy Reece Wiseman, of the home; his sister, Jennifer Ann Wiseman, of the home; his Aunts Betty Reece and Eva Jones; and many dear cousins and beloved friends. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His service will follow the visitation at 6 p.m. in the Gentry Family Chapel by Pastor Alan Wright of Reynolda Church, Rev. Nelson Puffenbarger, and Jason C. Brown. Burial will follow in the Union Cross Friends Church Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Union Cross Friends Church Cemetery Memorial Upkeep Fund, Yadkinville, NC 27055. Johnny was a very special person. I remember when he was born. He had the loving smile & twinkling blue eyes with a laugh that could lift your spirits on a dreary day.
Where you would find him was not far from Jenn, with that beautiful smile. When little he would join me & Jenn watching TV or listen to music when I slept over.

Mrs Wiseman and Dear Jennifer, Prayer is all I can give you today and forever. I was shocked to learn that my dear friend, Johnny, had left us so suddenly! He always gave a smile and a hug, no matter where I would see him! Jesus has now become real to him and I’m sure Johnny did the same for Him as he walked through the doors of Heaven. I will miss him here but I mourn with hope and joy.
I will be here to pray and do anything for you I can.
Heaven is now sweeter with Johnny there.
But we will miss him Here.

Jennifer and Peggy, my deepest condolences to you at this most difficult time..I am at a loss and in shock as you must be. Johnny was a true friend and if you knew him you knew it. We go way back to East Bend Friends Church days. Johnny was never without a smile, laugh, big hug, and usually good food that we would enjoy at different restaurants..I could always count on a card in my mailbox for almost every occasion..Johnny faced life head on despite obstacles and made the best of itJohnny, I will surely miss you..I’m glad I kept the cards!

Jennifer and Peggy, this is just hard..May God put his loving arms around u and comfort u at this most difficult time..I met Johnny at East Bend Friends Church..way back. My constant friend who called to invite me to lunch, Goodwilling, catching up, always happy to see me, never failing to send cards for every occasion. U just don’t find people like that very often in life. Johnny survived many obstacles in life with a smile, laugh and a BIG heart! He loved everybody and everybody loved him! I will never forget u. I still have those cards!

Johnny had such a sweet and loving way about him . I will miss him but I know he is with our Savior Jesus . We were in the same Sunday School at Reynolda Church .
