I wanted to remember John again this year, 2019. He was a kind and good friend and classmate. Such a talented and intelligent friend who was kind to everyone.

To Jon's family, I was in the fifth - ninth grades with Jonathan along with about 23 other "gifted and talented" students as we were called back in the day. We were only in middle school when Jonathan and I were assigned a topic to debate in front of our class; we had a great debate. Jonathan always was kind, considerate, thoughtful and an excellent student. I will never forget our younger years and the large amount of time spent with the others in that particular group of children. All my best to you. Judy Diane Lawson Fungaroli

I was lucky enough to have taken clarinet lessons for several years from Jon. I can still remember his interesting stories about all of the things he had done and all the places he had traveled. When I graduated from high school, he gave me a photograph he had taken, and I still have it today. He was a wonderful person and a great musician and will be missed by all. I am blessed to have known him.

I was very fortunate to have taken clarinet lessons with Jon several years ago. He was not only an expert teacher and musician but also a gracious gentleman with a delightful sense of humor. It was always a treat to have a lesson with Jon. I am so saddened to hear of his passing and send my very best thoughts and wishes to Jon’s family.

Jon Julian was a talented musician and photographer, caring teacher, and wonderful man. We were proud to have him as a teacher at Jackson's Music Studios for many years. He was very kind, always pleasant, and a true gentleman. His passing is a tremendous loss to our community.

Linda,
I am very sorry to hear of John's passing. I remember us playing in the Reynolds HS marching band. He always loved playing his clarinet. I am so glad that I had a chance to visit with him (and you) at the class reunion last October.

Linda,
I have many fond memories of riding from Hampton Va. to Winston-Salem while Jon and I were both in the TAC band at Langley AFB. We listened to a lot of opera!! I also remember with fondness his mother and father who made a bed for me many times on my pilgrimages to Wake Forest (where my future wife was in school). My prayers are with you and rest of Jon's family. This was a shock!!

I roomed with John for a year at the North Carolina School of the Arts. When I met John, he was an avid Clarinet Player, and he had the most impressive opera collection that I had ever seen. It rested in his closet.
John and his wonderful wife pursued careers with the military. Years afterwards I saw his wife at a Clarinet audition for the Charlotte Symphony. My heart nearly burst, but I maintained my professionalism. John did some sub work with the Charlotte Symphony, and it was wonderful to see him and trade stories with him.
I am so sad to hear of john's passing.

Yours in Christ,
Scott Rice
