January 20, 1960 - December 16, 2022

Joseph Dale "Joe" Collins, 62, of Greensboro, died Friday, December 16, 2022. Joe was born January 20, 1960 in Forsyth County to the late Dale Saunders Collins and Carolyn Phillips Collins. He attended North Forsyth High School and worked as a salesman and installer in the flooring industry. Joe was preceded in death by his life partner, Lex Grant Martin; and his brother, David Carlton Collins.

Joe enjoyed horticulture, painting, collecting, cooking and swimming. Joe and Lex were inseparable as partners and friends. Joe never met a stranger and made everyone feel welcome. He will be remembered for his laughter, grin and loving nature.

Survivors include his brother, Terry Collins (Gina) of Merritt Island, FL; sister, Carol Assimoglou (Socrates) of Charlotte, NC; nephews, Christopher (Megan) and Zachary Collins; and nieces, Alexandra Assimoglou and Zoe Bello Flores (Jurgen).

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, December 28 at Salem Main Street Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Attn: Processing Center, P.O. Box 947765, Atlanta, GA 30394 (https://donate.lovetotherescue.org/). Condolences may be made online at www.salemfh.com.
