Jarvis, Larry Wanning

February 22, 1951 - April 7, 2024

Mr. Larry Wanning Jarvis, 73, passed away on April 7, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on February 22, 1951, in Harlan County, Kentucky to the late Harry Jarvis and Mabel Reynolds Bowman. Larry loved working on houses and lawnmowers. He retired from C.W. Myers Trading Post after 48 years of service. Larry was an outgoing man who never met a stranger and will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather who raised him, Dewey Floyd Bowman. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Cathie Smith Jarvis; three daughters, Carol Jarvis (Derek "Roscoe"), Diane Hill (Wiley), Jennifer Jarvis (John Byerly); one son, Eddie Jarvis (Marsha); nine grandchildren, Jeremy, Jessica, and Jacob Hill, Colby, Kaylee, and Carson Jarvis, Brian, Kelly, and Adam Dowell; four great-grandchildren; and his second family, the Myers.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Rev. David Shaw officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from the hours of 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
