Lillian Fuller Obituary

FULLER Lillian Fuller of Winston-Salem, 75, beloved wife and mother, died Saturday, May 26, 2007. Lillian is the beloved wife of Edward Fuller; mother of Diane, Nancy and Bob; and friend of all. She was born in Asbury Park, N.J., on Jan. 16, 1932, to William and Elizabeth Korbonits. She resided in Asbury Park until her marriage to Edward Fuller on Aug. 23, 1952, when they took up residence on Long Island, N.Y. They moved to Winston-Salem in 1992. Lillian had been an active member in her community throughout her life. During her youth, she assisted with the pre-school age Sunday school class and was a member of the youth missionary guild at First Baptist Church of Asbury Park. While on Long Island, she was a Girl Scout leader, Garden City Garden Club president, taught Sunday school and nursery school and sang in the AAUW women' s choral group. During this time, she fulfilled her lifetime dream by attending Nassau Community College and receiving her degree in nursing. She worked at North Shore University Hospital, Glen Cove, N.Y. Upon moving to Winston-Salem, she became active in Parkway Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Rebecca Circle. She was a volunteer at Crisis Control Pharmacy for over 13 years. She and her husband, Edward, have led numerous fundraising efforts for the Grandfather Home for Children in Banner Elk. She is survived by her husband, Edward; three children; and four grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek. Friends and relatives are invited to meet at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 30. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park, 3771 Yadkinville Road, followed by a memorial service and luncheon at 11 a.m. at Parkway Presbyterian Church, 1000 Yorkshire Road. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorials for Lillian K. Fuller be made to the Grandfather Home for Children, P.O. Box 98, Banner Elk, NC 28604.
