Walkertown – Mrs. Lillian Elizabeth Key Lynch (Libby), 81, passed away peacefully at her home, Tuesday, March 14, 2023 surrounded by family.
Libby was born March 14, 1942, in Surry County to the late Alton Jackson Key and Lucy Selena Venable Key. She was a lifelong Christian and was a member of Belews Creek Christian Church. Libby enjoyed her work for Trailways Travel Agency, Greyhound Bus Station, and Wachovia Bank where she retired. She will be remembered for her laughter, encouragement, easy-going nature, her cooking (especially fried chicken, biscuits, banana pudding), and mostly for her sweet soul and unconditional love as wife, mama, grandma, sister, aunt, friend, and neighbor. She had a love of reading, traveling, quilting, painting, cats, birds, flowers, and much more. Libby loved to spend time with family and friends, all of whom she was so proud and supportive. With a giggle and a twinkle in her eye, she was always ready for an adventure.
In addition to her parents, Libby was preceded in death by Bobby Gene Lynch, her husband of 47 years.
She is survived by son Robby Lynch (Beverly); daughter Carolyn Lynch; son Steve Lynch; daughter Darlene Ashley (Shae); brother Jack Key (Eva); sister Nancy Money (Jim); grandchildren Jackie, Dustin, Michael, Jessica, Teri, Selena, Sarah Beth; six great grandchildren; and many special nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2023, at Burroughs Funeral Home Chapel, Walnut Cove.
Mrs. Lynch will be remembered in a service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, at Belews Creek Christian Church, 8451 Belews Creek Road, Belews Creek, NC 27009, with Pastor Herbert Mabe officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, Walkertown.
The family has heartfelt appreciation for Trellis of Stokes County and Belews Creek Christian Church for their tremendous care, support, and love.
