RURAL HALL - Mrs. Margaret Louise Speas Weaver, 88, our sweet loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, known to us as "Nanny," departed this life Saturday, July 31, 2004, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born Jan. 1, 1916, to Ernest and Alice Speas. Mrs. Weaver was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years, William Daniel Weaver, in 1991; her brother, Clyde Speas; her sisters, Francis Trivette and Edith Mae Speas; and a great-granddaughter, Jessica Marie Weaver. She is survived by her sons, Larry Weaver and wife, Linda, and Gerald "Jerry" Weaver and wife, Linda, all of Tobaccoville; three grandchildren, Cindy Weaver Arrington and husband, Norm, Becky Weaver and Greg Weaver; and four great-grandchildren, Adam and Jacob Weaver and Sarah and Andrew Arrington. Mrs. Weaver was a faithful member of Mizpah Moravian Church for 76 years. She was a member of the Vestal Kapp Speas Sunday School Class, a Sunday school teacher and active in the Women's Fellowship. She had previously served as a member of the church board. Mrs. Weaver enjoyed cooking and gardening. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today, Aug. 3, at Mizpah Moravian Church by the Rev. Jon Boling. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. Memorial donations may be made to Mizpah Moravian Church, 3195 Mizpah Church Road, Rural Hall, NC 27045. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Herman Schmid, InHome Care and Hospice for all care and support provided to our Nanny during her illness.

Dear Jerry, we are so sorry that you have lost your mother. We know she is with God, but it's so hard to lose someone you love.
She must have been very proud of you, her son.
