Margie Farrington Rust passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Hospice Home of High Point.

Margie was born January 31, 1936, in Greensboro, to the late John Ector Farrington and the late Ola Mae Bowden. She was a lifelong resident of Guilford County, graduating from UNCG with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Physics. Margie had a long and successful career as a computer programmer for thirty plus years at Bell Labs/Western Electric which then became Lucent Technologies. This is where she met the love of her life and husband, Charles Rust Jr. She was a member of Shady Grove Wesleyan Church in Colfax, NC, where she taught Sunday school and served in many other capacities. She was very generous and willing to help anyone in need. She loved all types of flowers, animals and grew up in a family of tobacco farmers and grew different types of vegetables.

Margie is preceded in death not only by her parents; but also, her sister, Sharlie Farrington and brother, Odais Farrington.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Charles Rust Jr; daughter, Karen Rust and many other family and friends who she loved very much.

The family will have a visitation Monday, November 13, 2023, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Guilford Chapel location of Forbis and Dick Funeral Services; the funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at 2 p.m., also at the Guilford Chapel location; with the committal service following at Shady Grove Wesleyan Church in Colfax, North Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
