Mary Sapp Obituary

SAPP KERNERSVILLE - Mary Lucille Sapp, 88, died Friday, January 1, 2010. Funeral Services Celebrating her Life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Sedge Garden United Methodist Church with the Rev. Patricia Lewis, the Rev. Ellis Rouse, the Rev. Phil Bauguess, and the Rev. Doug Watts officiating. Interment will be in the Church cemetery. A native of Forsyth County, she was the daughter of the late Monnie Moore Huls and George Bruce Sapp. She was a lifetime member of Sedge Garden United Methodist Church, where she served in the choir for 50 plus years. She also served as a "Ladybug" of the church. She was retired from the cafeteria of the Forsyth County School System, and was a hairdresser during her younger years. She was preceded in death by her sister, Eloise Sapp Hastings. Survivors include her brother, Gerald "Buddy" Sapp, Sr., and Evelyn of Kernersville; niece, Betty Ann Clark and Eddie of Kernersville; and nephews, Dickie Hastings and Carole, and Gerald W. Sapp, Jr. and Terri, all of Kernersville. She had a host of other extended family, where she was the "Mother" of at least three generations within the Sapp/Hastings families. The family will visit with friends following the Service at the Church on Sunday.
