To Michael, Carl, Cecil and Camille - warmest, loving thoughts and prayers to you all. What an amazing and lovely lady your mom (and wife) was. SO many fond memories and moments she shared in my early years and through life. I am SO sorry for your loss but, also happy that Melanie is at rest and free from the troubles of this world. Peace to you all,

I am grateful for having had the opportunity to know Mrs. Nutt over the past several years. She was smart, kind, spunky, and just a joy to be around. (I always enjoyed getting to see her.) Her family is in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Melanie was my first contact with Wake Forest Law School and she helped me make the transition from NY to NC. She was an amazing lady and I will always remember her fondly. I have served in many roles at Wake and she was always there to help and lend a smile. RIP my friend.

Melanie was terrific! At the end of our last year of law school, our class put on a talent show and one of my roommates and I wrote a comedy skit entitled the "Law School Family Feud" One of the questions was " 100 Wake Forest Law Students were surveyed and asked to name the dean of the Wake law school and the top 3 answers are on the board" We had the first guy say "John Scarlett" who was the actual dean at the time and all of the other guys started saying things like "What?" "Who's that???" "That's not right" "Never heard of that guy" and then the buzzer went off and the big "X" came up for nobody in the survey giving that answer. Needless to say, "Melanie Nutt" was the number one answer because she was the person from administration that all of the students knew and loved and the one who always went out of her way to help any of us. All of the students in the audience got the joke and it responded with peals of laughter. Makes me smile just thinking about her again. Great, great lady and one of a kind. I will say a prayer.

I met Melanie when I was an undergrad at Wake Forest '91 and took a class dual enrollment course in the law school. From the moment I walked in her office, I felt at home and cared for as a person. She had an amazing quality of "being present" in all that she did and you always felt like her sole focus. I made sure to check in with her throughout my law school days at Wake because she felt like family. My condolences to all who loved her.
