EAST BEND - Mrs. Mildred Ann Malcom, 64, of East Bend passed away Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at her home. She was born Nov. 14, 1940, in Wilkes County to Erastus L. and Mattie I. Harris Wiles. Mrs. Malcom enjoyed her children and grandchildren, cooking and crocheting. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; and her husband, Mark Clive Malcom. Surviving are four sons, Mark C. Malcom Jr. and wife, Michelle, of Winston-Salem, James Dino Massey of East Bend, Matthew H. Malcom of Winston-Salem and Christopher L. Malcom of Pilot Mountain; two daughters, Carol Ann Tilley and husband, Mike, of Apex, Sandra Ann Templeton and husband, Bobby, of East Bend; nine grandchildren, Milissa Tilley and husband, Jeff, Michael Tilley, Amber Lynn Malcom, Mark Malcom III, Hope Templeton, Meagan Malcom, James Dean Massey, Joshua Massey and Jenna Templeton; a soon-to-be great-grandson, Bryson Malcom; four brothers; and three sisters. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Dan Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends and Mrs. Malcom will lie in state from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4-A Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407.
