Mildred Scott Obituary

Mildred "Mickey" Scott

June 19, 1948 - February 11, 2025

Mildred "Mickey" Scott passed away peacefully on February 11, 2025. Mickey was born on June 19, 1948 in Winston-Salem, NC, to Lewis and Shirley Shouse. She and her sister, Sandra, grew up surrounded by a large group of cousins and neighbors, where there was lots of love and shenanigans. She attended North Forsyth High School, where she played basketball and although small in stature, she was fierce on the court.

Mickey was a dedicated civil servant. Working for the US Post Office, then eventually with the City of Winston-Salem, where she was a Budget Analyst, and then Senior Business Office Coordinator for the Winston-Salem Police Department. She always spoke fondly about her time working for the city, forging friendships that continued until her passing.

In 1978, Mickey married Bob Scott, and together they shared a love of sports, billiards, reading, The Price Is Right, and sitting in their recliners enjoying each other's company. They also shared a love of music and enjoyed their extensive music collection.

She is survived by her best friend and husband, Bob; her loving sister, Sandra Shouse Jameson (Charlie); nieces, Jennifer Thomas Boyd (Darwin) and Wendy Thomas Cudzilo (Chris); grandniece, Avery Boyd; and grandnephews, Ryan Boyd and Eli, Henry, and Graham Cudzilo.

Mickey had an infectious laugh, a beautiful smile, a sharp mind, and quick wit. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
