Phillip Brame Obituary

NORTH WILKESBORO - Mr. Phillip Augustus Brame, 89, of Finley Avenue, North Wilkesboro, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, at his home. Mr. Brame was born Jan. 30, 1915, in Wilkes County to Robert Marvin and Lula Hester Brame. He served as a pharmacist in the U.S. Merchant Marines during World War II. After graduating from the University of North Carolina Pharmacy School in 1939, he carried on the Brame Drug Store that his father had established in 1903. Mr. Brame was a past member of the Wilkes Regional Medical Center Board. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of North Wilkesboro. His wife, Earline Ruby Weisner Brame, preceded him in death. He is survived by a daughter, Susan Rose of Houston, Texas; two sons, Dr. Marvin Brame and Arthur Brame, both of North Wilkesboro; and two grandchildren, Allison Brame and Phillip Brame Jr., both of North Wilkesboro. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, Dec. 30, at Mountlawn Memorial Park, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of North Wilkesboro, with the Rev. William T. Medlin III officiating. Immediately after the memorial service, the family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Ebenezer Garden Christian Children's Home, P.O. Box 2777, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659; or to the Alzheimer's Support Group, c/o Britthaven Nursing Home, 1016 Fletcher St., Wilkesboro, NC 28697. Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
