Phyllis Leonard Obituary

Leonard, Phyllis

November 14, 1942 - January 16, 2022

Phyllis Everhart Leonard, 79, of Welcome, NC passed away on Sunday, January 16th.

Phyllis was born in Davidson County on November 14th, 1942, to Kermit and Wilda Mae Everhart.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Tony Mack Leonard. She is also survived by their two children, Tanda Beck with son-in-law Randy, and Corey Leonard with daughter-in-law Diana; her two grandchildren, Noelle Hughes with husband Brad, and Isaiah Beck; as well as her sister, Donna Everhart with husband Clandon (Larry).

Phyllis retired as a librarian from the North Davidson Public Library after 30 years. There she touched the lives of many and got to spend time with one of her favorite hobbies, reading. Phyllis loved to spend time in her yard landscaping and beautifying her home alongside Tony. She never met a stranger and found joy in meeting new people, canning, cooking, shopping, going out to eat, and spending time laughing with her family. Her bright personality was loved by all who knew her and will live on in our hearts forever.

To protect the health and well-being of Phyllis' dear family and friends, a celebration of life will be held at a future date.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff of Hinkle Hospice House.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Phyllis' memory to Center Church (186 Center Church Road, Lexington, NC, 27295), the Hinkle Hospice House (200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC, 27292), or the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).
